Mom of the Year Tip #1

Yep,, you heard right... We ALL have earned MOM of the YEAR Award for 2011.. and we are only 4 days in!!!

I have nominated YOU as Mom of the YEAR...
WHY?
You already have your plans laid out, right?... To achieve the best possible things for Your Lord, Your Family, etc. right?
Well, that is a qualifier right there.

So Here is My MOTY ( Mom of the Year) Tip #1 for you,,, and in turn, you can share one with all of us reading.
(Just leave a comment with your MOTY Tip below.)

MOTHER of the YEAR Tip #1 -
Don't set up expectations for motherhood that don't come from God.  Those would only be our own selfish desires and ideals.  It will drive you crazy.

And on the practical side..
***
Try Freezing blueberries and grapes flat on a cookie sheet.  After frozen, put into freezer bags for future snacks.  Kids LOVE the frozen blueberries and grapes just out of the freezer.  And healthy too!

What is your MOTY Tip ?

Love the frozen grape tip!! One of my favorite treats when I was a child was the bucket of frozen grapes in my parents freezer.

    Tip?

Let's see....cleaning can wait...they can't. When I'm homeschooling I have to let go of the clean house otherwise we wouldn't get anything done. I have to wait till breaks to tidy the kitchen, or switch the laundry, and then must be diligent in coming back to them. Not folding that extra load...:)

Even if you're not a "huggy" person - be one for your kids. Set a number of times you want to hug each kid each day and count it down until sooner or later you'll be amazed that it becomes habit!
    :) and they love it!
    Practical....
The "timer" method of cleaning helps when you are not a "type A super organized" person. The kids enjoy it too....15 minutes on a timer...play great "fast" music and have fun. It has taken me 25 years of marriage to realize it IS all day to day...it HAS to be done...you can either have a horrible attitude about it and pass that down to your children...or you can pray for a happy heart - a much better legacy.

    Hmm, a tip from a Mother ...

How about ... be willing to be a kid with your kid. Try making a fool out of yourself to see your child smile, it's priceless!

I often race Emily from whatever store we're in to the car when we come out of the store. She loves it .... race to the car, race to be the 1st to get their seatbelt on.
