Give you Joy
Blogging Absentee? That's me! I am in a blogging lull.. my mind is lacking inspiration, and my days seem way too full.
So, what's the best cure?
Bring Me...Give you JOY.
I decided to go back to why I began blogging to begin with...
My Children/My Family/The Lord... bring me Joy.
The other day, I was searching my heart for the things that matter most to me in life. As a wife, a homeschooling mom, servant of the Lord, sister, daughter, friend.... what do I give to others, and where does my JOY come from? Jesus ... Others ... and You... most of us know that this is a wonderful acrostic for JOY. And it is so practical.
I came across My 5 year old Sam the other day ..coloring, drawing with a red marker. Iam not fond of LOVE markers,, and the little splotches of red on his face will tell you why... but, that was not what I was thinking when I discovered him sitting quietly drawing me a picture.
He is another gift of JOY God brings me every day.
He loves to draw. By himself.. and he likes to talk about has been drawing.
I found him all alone, drawing with the infamous red marker,, and it hit me again...
That this is the JOY in my life. Another small piece of it.
I thought you might enjoy his sweet smile, and see the happiness in his eyes, that I get to see every day.

Thank you friends.

Sweet post. Your son has a precious smile! His happiness is a direct result of the love and joy that you invest in him every day! Sometimes as busy moms, it seems we give all of our joy away, and have none left for ourselves. Then it is good to steal away and let God refill our tanks. Now, that is an excellent subject for a blog post! Don't you think?
Glad you're back! I missed you!

What a cutie. I love those blessed moments where we can see past the markers and see our children for the blessing they are!
September, Thank you so much for your sweet encouragement on my post today. It did lift me up. :)
And I'm so glad I stopped by, I've been getting Migraines lately, out of no where, but now I'm wondering if it's all that SUGAR!
Loved your Christmas photos-your family is BEAUTIFUL!
Thanks again,
kristen

I really think that a blogging lull is a very natural thing to happen after the Christmas season passes! It happens to me as well and I usually end up exhausted from all the festivities that I don't want to blog at all. I still read all the messages from my blogging friends, still check their blogs, but find it hard to get back into the heart of writing myself. No worries about a lull, know that you are missed and prayed for when you're gone, and wonderfully welcomed when you come back!
Hoping your Christmas was just amazing :)

Hi September,
I'm new at this blogging stuff..hope this finds you, your little Sammy does indeed have the sweetest smile...brings back happy memories...Now MY youngest has accepted a PA job and I will be experiencing the empty nest syndrome..I will miss making breakfast for him every morning and just the thought of having him around...He turned 21 on Christmas...so I thought I'd share with you the poem I wrote for his 21st b-day...he's on to becoming a man...Susan Sawdey
JO, a Christmas Story...
Everyone calls him Jo...little do they know
The meaning behind his name...
of long ago there was such fame.
There once was a boy of eight,
Who lived inside Jerusalem's Gate.
A really amazing thing, at this young age
They crowned him king!
Time passed,
as a young man, he began to seek God with all his heart...
It was at this time a temple cleansing took part.
You see the house of God, before his reign was defiled,
Idols and molten images in the temples had been piled.
So he set out to destroy from them every evil thing,
And to this day this is why he's remembered as a 'good king'.
His name had the meaning, 'Jehovah Heals',
Leading me to a story I must now reveal.
A woman great in her pregnancy...was happy indeed,
yet after a visit to her doctor, was told she was sick,
with cancer it seems.
After hearing those words
She sat down and cried..”what would happen to this new life inside.?”
Seeking the Lord with all her heart and soul, she was scared...
She asked just one thing, that her baby be spared.
Her labor began on a cold Christmas Eve,
pondering what her dad said,
a few days before...would you believe?...
Her dad had told her...”you know he'll be born Christmas day!”
She just gave a chuckle and went on her way.
In the labor room they were already sure of a name..
they'd name him Joseph, meaning 'Jehovah adds'..
they'll probably call him 'Jo' just the same.
“On second thought,” they said,
” let's get the name book ,
We'll take one more look.”
The husband said, “What about this name, it means Jehovah Heals?”
The Hebrew name was Josiah, it was revealed.
Then she answered “no need search anymore,
it is the hope we are searching for.”...
“So what of a middle name, can you find one to fit?”
She said,“I like the name David quite a bit”.
So he looked up the meaning, 'Beloved' it meant,
they put them together, and it seemed heaven sent.
Labor pains got shorter and her time came near,
a beautiful baby boy
would be born on Christmas Day this year!
Two thousand years earlier, A 'King' was born
And a woman with the same joy,
held him close Christmas morn.
“Josiah David”, she cried ,
as her baby arrived...
Her doctor said “wait, a Jewish name, are you a Jew?”
She just smiled, and shook her head,
and said, ”you haven't a clue.”
So it was sealed, Josiah David was his name,
Meaning Jehovah heals Beloved...,
The revelation as it came.
Twenty-one years later he's healthy,
and she's years cancer free,
From his name came a prophecy,
For all men to see.
He is now a living testimony of what God will do...
And the best of this true story...is that he still seeks his God,
And will his whole life through.
Everyone calls him
JO...little do they know....

What a beautiful smile! He is a very handsome little guy. :-)
I'm just coming out of a blogging lull myself... and for the same reasons--lack of inspiration and lack of time.
I've been praying for you last night and this morning. May God fill you with peace and comfort and JOY this day!
Love,
Angela

There are definitely days I feel like I have nothing to write about b/c it's just the routine of another day. Hope you're having a great new year so far!
