Do you drink Soda or Pop? Will you help out?

Do you drink Soda or pop...

or just plain ole' Soda Pop?
We are split down the middle in our home...
Some drink what they call Soda..

and some drink..
POP!
 Me...?
I drink Water.  ( and lattes).

Why in the world am I asking you this?

My daughter Leah began a project of collecting Bottle Tabs, Soda Tabs, Pop Can Tabs for a Charity Organization a long time ago.

She took the following pictures just for you..
so that you would know what she has been up to.

She has been faithfully filling containers and scouring parking lots, parks, and grocery stores for this very purpose.

She has been so diligent, and has a heart of gold - this girl does.

I am sure that you have heard of this organization:

Ronald McDonald House    ( Click the link to visit the site)

Also,,, You can visit them on Facebook - here:http://www.facebook.com/rmhcglobal?ref=s

Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. Often, it can be a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having their mom and dad close by for love and support.
Our Ronald McDonald House program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay        close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.  Our Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest.

Here is WHY Leah collects Pop Tabs:

Collecting pop tabs is a great way to teach kids about philanthropy and the importance of recycling, and raise funds to help children and their families at the same time. Some of our Chapters raise thousands of dollars with their pop tab collections.

So... Here is where YOU come in:

Would you, or your family start collecting your Pop Tabs?
Perhaps you could even leave a note here telling Leah that you will start doing this?

And an even more awesome idea would be to send them to Leah.
Leave a note,, and I will send you our address for sending your Pop Tabs!

What an amazing way for a child to do something small, in a BIG way for another family in need.

One Bottle Tab, Two Bottle Tabs, Three Bottle Tabs... Four..
Five Bottle Tabs, Six Bottle Tabs,  Seven Bottle Tabs..

Well lets see what we can do. Perhaps I can collect them here at work and send them to you. Don't know how many I will get, but will try.

Hi! We also collect pop tabs for RMH. We stayed in a Ronald McDonald House for 3 weeks after our oldest was born and decided to start collecting them then. She turned 7 last month and I'm guessing that we've collected about 300 pounds so far!

Our school collects thousands of pop tabs each year for Ronald McDonald House. A great endeavor. And, we are a "pop" family. ;)

We don't buy either one, soda or pop. How about cat food can tabs? Would that count? I am sure that Gracie would donate her tabs at the rate of three a day. She would make that four or five if I let her eat more! Let me know and we'll start saving!

My 12 yr. old has been collecting them for about a year - even put up signs at his school asking for kids to give tabs to him for RMH. A lady in our church asked to collect them for a coworker's niece that has leukemia.
